Weather and Communities
(Lesson plan meant for third or fourth grade classrooms)

For my Differentiated Instruction Project, I am using a lesson plan about “Weather in Communities.”  This can be used for either third or fourth grade classrooms in Texas, for the foundation of this particular lesson has the student working with particular state standards called the TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills).

The following pages will show what the state standards and objectives are for the students working with this lesson plan

It's summer time!

Hurricane season has already started!  Just when you thought it was safe because tornado season ended. :)  Not only is it hurricane season, it's summer and that means Texas heat is upon us!  Think about this:

During the Texas summers it is very hot outside, sometimes reaching 100 degrees.  Thunderstorms do occur during the scorching heat.  What do you think would happen if it did not rain at all during the summer?  What would happen if it rained all the time?”

I'll let you think about these questions and you tell me your thoughts when I come to school on Monday, June 26th.

Meet the Challenge!
